JaNae Contag, a Kansas City native, received her MFA in Visual Art from Washington University in St. Louis and her BA from Trinity University in San Antonio with majors in Art, Political Science and Spanish. As an Artist Support Grant Recipient through the Regional Arts Commission (RAC) of St. Louis, she recently completed a film project documenting declining indoor malls in the Midwest. Another recent project, NÆ, investigates architectural form through music, transforming her original lyrical manifestos into pop music. Contag has exhibited her work in San Antonio, Austin, Maine, Chicago, New York and St. Louis, most notably at The Luminary Center for the Arts, The Kemper Art Museum, The Well Slept Film Fest in Chicago, Co-Lab Project Space in Austin, Texas, and the Offline Space at Central Booking in New York.
